How does it work?

Coin Games

Just like money games, certain games entice players with coins that act as virtual money within the game. The coins can then be used by the players to purchase equipment, upgrades and new abilities and skills. Character upgrades and new gameplay packages can also be bought within the game by turning in the desired amount of coins.

Games that allow players to collect and gather coins within the game are categorized as coin games. These games lay incentive for the players to play the game by launching various challenges and missions that offer ample coins when played.  Depending on the theme of the game, the player can then utilize the coins as they see fit. In games such as Subway Surfer and Temple run, the coins collected by the player determine the score of the player and their position on the leaderboard. They can also be used to unlock new characters, buy equipment and add-ons and unlock new levels within the existing game.

The method of earning coins varies from game to game. Some games allow players to collect the prize as they play, while others generate them when a certain landmark is achieved, such as building a house or killing an NPC. The coins collected can then be spent by the player, or collected to gain a place on the scoreboard.
